The first meeting of the Rocky Mountain Leonberger Club was held on Saturday October 19, 2001 at a park in Monument, Colorado.
Next RMLC meeting:
- Spring Leo Fun Day - April 20th, 2002 (Saturday), 10:30 am. Off- leash dog area at Cherry Creek State Park.

October 19, 2001 Minutes are as follows:
- Discussed which states will be included in club
- Decided on the name of the club : Rocky Mountain Leonberger Club
- Decided that dues would be $15/year per household, and membership in the LCA is required of all person desiring to become a local club member
- Nominated and voted for officers for the club. Those officers got together and decided on the following positions:
- Marsha Perry - president
- Scott Hall - treasurer
- Tina Couch - secretary
- The next steps are:
- Get a membership form together
- Have a quarterly newsletter
- The first newsletter will be via email to save costs
