Last week position in parenthesis.
Survey copied complete with errors. Scepter, misspelled in previous surveys is corect here, #36.
Al Wilson of "Show And
Tell" fame was a member of the Rollers, #19.
"Watusi", #22, sounds like a copy of
Hank Ballard & the Midnighters' "Let's Go, Let's Go,
Let's Go" with different lyrics. Oddly enough, the
Vibrations,
known as the Jayhawks in 1956, recorded the original
"Stranded In The Jungle", only to see the Cadets
(a/k/a/ the Jacks)
cover it and have a slightly bigger hit. That cover today is the
better known version. In 1964, the "Vibes" scored a top
30
hit with "My Girl Sloopy", and watched the McCoys take
a cover titled "Hang On Sloopy" to number one.
