The company provided housing
for management staff in the main townsite area. These homes have been maintained
and house the Holden Village staff and visitors today.
Homes for 100 families were built
by employees in Winston Camp which was named after the contractor who installed
utility lines and roads. All homes were bull-dozed when the mine closed.
Today the area has "gone back to nature" and little remains to indicate
that these beautiful homes were nestled in the mountainside.
Thank you for visiting Holden.
