Elves Chasm, Grand Canyon
Image ID: c051893_92_25
http://www.users.qwest.net/~rnclark

This is a very unusual image. You may have seen images of Elves Chasm before, but this one is quite different. Examine the image closely and look for faces. There are small and large "bird heads," "the grim reaper with shroud," and scores of other faces. Unless you stand at the right spot in Elves Chasm, you will not see (and photograph) many of these faces. This is an example of viewing you subject in the field and choosing the perspective with the most impact. Third place, 1993 USGS Photo contest, Advanced Amateur category.

35mm image scanned at 6000 dpi (137 MByte digital file) produces stunning 20x30 inch prints.
