CRAMA February 2009 Update

Dear Supporters,

The 10,000 mark was passed! Yes, over 10,000 residents have now signed the CRAMA petition.  Another mailing is going out in February, this time to those IronOak households that we have not heard from. Based on past experience we will pass the 11,000 mark shortly!

We wrote a letter of congratulations regarding his re-election to the GRIC Governor. Attached is a copy of that letter. We reiterated our desire to meet with the proper GRIC executives in an effort to find a mutually satisfactory solution.  Governor Rhodes’ re-election is seen by many as a beginning of new direction for GRIC.

A bright light of hope is that there are several within the GRIC leadership who question the economic wisdom of the Memorial Airfield project. In addition, there appear to be some land ownership issues that have to be resolved before anyone can proceed.

Our fund raising effort, with the exception of a couple of very generous donors (Thank you very much!) was somewhat disappointing. So if you can spare a $ or two please mail it to P.O. Box 13204, Chandler, AZ 85248.  Remember, while our mass mailings in the past year were highly successful they do cost money!

We are looking for an individual with experience in Environmental Impact Studies (EIS). If you have been involved in the preparation and development of EIS please contact us. We need this expertise and would welcome you on our Steering Committee.

In the meantime, we are not going away.  CRAMA will continue our efforts to get facts and monitor the situation in a “watchful-waiting” mode. And you will keep on receiving Updates every Quarter.
