  Karcher Column!

We have been very busy this week as we started practicing for our Christmas play.  We have been working hard to practice our lines and learn all of our songs.  We read “The Paper Crane” in Reading and we worked on cause and effect.  We had our test on long vowels in Phonics and worked on kinds of sentences, capitals, punctuation, and adding suffixes in Language.  We have started adding two-digit numbers in Math, learned about symmetry (come see our symmetrical art designs on our windows!), finished learning addition facts, and measured to the nearest foot.  We learned about baby insects and diabetes in Science.  We are going to read about bees and some lessons we can learn from them as Christians after Thanksgiving.

Text Box: November is
National Diabetes Month
We used The Mini Page in Wednesday’s newspaper to learn more about diabetes—what it is, why it happens, signs of diabetes, how it feels, how to manage it, etc. Luke was very helpful as he answered questions about living with diabetes. The students have been very supportive and understanding.
