Prophecies telling about the
Exile and Death of a Pope
taken from
Prophecy for Today
by Edward Connor
Third Edition--1963
Brother John of the Cleft Rock (1340.): "Toward the end of the world the Pope with the Cardinals will have to flee Rome under trying circumstances to a place where he will be unknown. He will die a cruel death in this exile. The sufferings of the Church will be much greater than at any previous time in her history."
Bishop George Michael Wittman (d. 1833.): "Sad days are at hand for the Holy Church of Jesus Christ. The Passion of Jesus will be renewed in the most dolorous manner in the Church and in her Supreme Head . . . Violent hands will be laid on the Supreme Head of the Catholic Church."
Abbess Maria Steiner (d. 1862.): "Unless people obtain pardon through their prayers the time will come when they will see the sword and death, and Rome without a Shepherd."
Pope Pius IX (d. 1878): "The Church will suffer exceedingly, Her servants and her chieftain (Pope) will be mocked, scourged and martyred."
Pope Pius X (d. 1914.): "I saw one of my successors by name fleeing over the corpses of his brethren. He will flee to a place for a short respite where he is unknown but he himself will die a cruel death."
Jacinta of Fatima (d. 1920.): "I saw the Holy Father in a very big house. He was kneeling before a table holding his face in his hands and he was weeping. Outside there were many people; some were throwing stones, others were cursing at him and saying many ugly words to him."
Bl. Joachim (d. 1202.): "Towards the end of the world Antichrist will overthrow the Pope and usurp his See."
St. Thomas Aquinas (d. 1274.): a. "Antichrist will
pervert some in his day by exterior persuasion . . . He is the head of
all the wicked because in him wickedness is perfect . . . As in Christ
dwells the fulness of the Godhead so in Antichrist the fulness of all wickedness.
Not indeed in the sense that his humanity is to be assumed by the devil
into unity of person . . . , but that the devil by suggestion infuses his
wickedness more copiously into him than into all others. In this
way all the wicked that have gone before are signs of Antichrist."
(Summa III 8.8.)
b. "Infidels and even Antichrist are not deprived
. . . of the guardianship of angels. Although this help . . . does
not result in . . . eternal life by good works, it does none the less .
. . protect them from certain evils which would hurt themselves and others.
Even the demons are checked by good angels lest they harm as much as they
would. In like manner Antichrist will not do as much harm as he would
wish." (Summa I:113.4.)
c. "The works of Antichrist may be called
lying wonders either because he will deceive men's senses by means of phantoms,
so that he will not really do what he seems to do; or because if he works
real prodigies they will lead those into falsehood who believe in Him."
(summa I: 114.4.)
d. "His miracles may be said to be real
just as Pharoah's magicians made real frogs, but they will not be real
miracles because they will be done by the power of natural causes."
(Summa II: 178.1.)
Spiritual Aids in Times of Distress
The Saints, mystics and prophets have told
us not only of the chastisements to come but also how these punishments
might be avoided or mitigated, or how we should conduct ourselves if they
do fall. This is praticularly true of the messages given by Our Lady
in approved apparitions in the last century and a half.
St. Margaret Mary (1647.): "I understood that devotion to the Sacred Heart is a last effort of His Love towards Christians of these latter times, by proposing to them an object and means so calculated to persuade them to love Him."
Father Nectou, S.J. (1772.): "When those things come to pass which will bring on the triumph of the Church, then will such confusion reign on earth that people will think God has permitted them to have their own contrary will and that the providence of God is not concerned about the world. The confusion will be so general that mankind will not be able to think aright, as if God had entirely withheld His Providence from mankind, and during the worst crisis the best that can be done will be to remain where God has placed us, and persevere in fervent prayer."
Mother Maria Rofols (Words of Our Lord--dated 1815;
found 1931.): "I wish many Communions of reparation. Also there
is the Feast of Christ the King that shall be instituted by My will, and
at the proper time, by My beloved son, Pius XI. I wish that it be
surrounded with the greatest possible solemnity and splendor. I want
My kingdom to be spread throughout the entire world. But in My beloved
Spain this Divine fire is to burn with greater intensity, and from there
they will carry it throughout the whole world.
"In the times to come there will be many souls who
will propagate the devotion to My Divine Heart, and this shall be very
agreeable to Me, but those that must do this the most are the sons of My
company, for I have chosen them principally for this work so pleasing to
Me.
"It is My wish that all men visit the Image of My
Most Merciful Heart, and to those who devoutly carry it on their person,
I promise great graces for eternal salvation.
"All those who wear My medal devoutly shall receive
My special protection at the hour of their death.
"Those who wish to obtain the conversion of sinners
shall obtain it from My Merciful Heart, by asking it through the mediation
of My Most Holy Mother, My Merciful Heart will give itself. I shall
never refuse graces which are asked Me through the intercession of My Most
Holy Mother.
"It is My desire also that the Feast of the Sacred
Heart be celebrated throughout the entire Catholic Church with the greatest
solemnity, that it be made a Holy Day of Obligation and that all the faithful
receive Holy Communion on that day."
The greatest evil of these times, and of the even
worse than these that shall come, always has been and always shall be to
lose the memory and taste of the supernatural life, living only for earthly
and sinful things.
"When those turbulent and calamitous times will
come, the most powerful means to give satisfaction to His Eternal Father
will be to invoke His Most Holy Mother under the invocation of El Pilar,
who is the Patroness and Protectrix of our beloved Spain, and that the
mental
and vocal prayer, meditating on the Five Sorrowful Mysteries of the
Most Holy Rosary, will be the most substantial Devotion, and most pleasing
to the Virgin of El Pilar, in times of wars, pestilence and persecutions
against our Most Holy Religion."
Our Lady to St. Catherine Laboure (1830.): "The
times are very evil . . . The entire world will be distressed with afflictions.
But do you come to the foot of this Altar. Here Graces will be showered
upon the great and upon the small . . . Grace is shed most abundantly on
those who ask for it in prayer; but alas, where are those who pray."
(After the vision of the Miraculous Medal) "Have
a medal struck after this model. Persons who wear it indulgenced
will receive great Graces, especially if they wear it around the neck."
Bl. Anna Maria Taigi (d. 1837.): "The Three Days Darkness: "During these three days the people should remain in their homes, pray the Rosary and beg God for mercy."
Our Lady to St. Bernadette (1850.): "Penance! Penance! Penance!" "Pray for poor sinners. Pray for the world so troubled." "Kiss the ground for sinners."
Our Lady at Pontmain (1871.): "But pray my children. God will hear you in a short time. My Son allows Himself to be moved by compassion."
Sister Marie Chambau (1907.): "The triumph of the Church will be hastened by Devotion to the Five Wounds and the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ."
Pere Lamy (d. 1931.): "The prayer of the children must be the foundation of everything . . . Prayer offered in union with Our Lady has great power . . . Our Lady requires the sanctity of family life. She requires that disorder should cease and that people should observe order once more. God asks only this so that He may grant them pardon . . . If people had heeded Her the war (1914-1918) would not have come . . . Penance, penance, penance--terrible times are coming. The times we are living in now (1914-1918) are as nothing to what we are soon to see . . . How Our Lord must have suffered! And yet Christians are always seeking pleasure! If it were thus in the green wood, how shall it be in the dry . . . the (first) world war had three causes: blasphemies, work on Sundays, and desecration of marriage . . . Lucifer is playing his last card: he thinks the game is in his hands, in which he is mistaken . . . We must pray confidently in spite of his blustering . . . People will appreciate still more the gentle goodness of Our Blessed Lady . . . Peace will be restored to the world but I shall not see that, and other things will come to pass of which I shall not see the end."
Our Lady at Beauraing (1932-1933.): "I am the Mother of God and the Queen of Heaven. Pray a great deal. Pray always. I shall convert sinners."
Our Lady at Banneux (1933.): "I am the Blessed Virgin of the Poor. I have come to relieve suffering. Believe in me, I shall believe in you. Pray a great deal."
Countess Francesca de Billinante (d. 1935.): "Great tribulations are coming; however, before this God will send a light of the Church so that those who follow the light will be given a clear understanding of right and justice. Albertus Magnus will be elevated to the throne of Sainthood and recognized as a Doctor of the Church. God will shame the professors of Theology with whom He is displeased due to their pride. He will elevate to Sainthood the ignorant Brother Konrad and the unknown Brother Jordan Mai. Likewise God will cause Don Bosco to be Canonized. (These things have all come to pass.) In these days the Rosary will bring down untold blessings. We will even know the true Christian by his Rosary."
Our Lady in the Latter Times
St. Louis de Montfort (d. 1716.): "The power of Mary over all devils will be particularly outstanding in the last period of time. She will extend the Kingdom of Christ over the idolators and Moslems, and there will come a glorious era in which Mary will be the ruler and Queen of human hearts."
Sister Marie Lataste (d. 1847.): "Peace shall return to the world because the Blessed Virgin Mary will breathe over the storms and quell them. Her name will be praised, blessed and exalted forever. Prisoners or captives shall recover their liberty; exiles shall return to their country, and the unfortunate or unhappy shall be restored to peace and happiness. Between the most august Mary and her clients there will be a mutual exchange of prayers and graces, of love and affection. From the east to the west, from the north to the south, all shall proclaim the Holy Name of Mary; Mary conceived without Original Sin, Mary Queen of Heaven and earth. Amen."
Pope Pius IX (d. 1878.): "We expect that the Immaculate Virgin and Mother of God, Mary through her most powerful intercession, will bring it about that our Holy Mother, the Catholic Church, after removal of all obstacles and overcoming of all errors, will gain in influence from day to day among all nations and in all places, prosper and rule from ocean to ocean, from the great stream to the ends of the earth; that she will enjoy peace and liberty . . . that all erring souls will return to the path of truth and justice after the darkness of their minds has been dispelled, and that there will be then one fold and one shepherd."
Pope Pius XII (after recommending prayers for peace): "The Virgin Mother of God invoked by such prayers will obtain from the Divine Savior liberation from present anxieties, the peace of hearts and fraternal concord among peoples."
Taken from "The Book of Destiny."
"Antichrist knows of the return of the Pope and
Cardinals from the 'wilderness', and he is determined to end the existence
of the Church by this last campaign. But his allotted time has
been used up and his fate is sealed in God's decrees."
The promise of a Redeemer brightens the first
page of the history of mankind, and the confident hope aroused by this
promise softened the keen regret for a paradise which had been lost.
It was this hope that accompanied the human race on its weary journey,
until in the fullness of time the expected Savior came to begin a new universal
civilization, the Christian civilization, far superior even to that which
up to this time had been laboriously achieved by certain more privileged
nations.
Nevertheless, the struggle between good and evil
remained in the world as a sad legacy of the original fall. Nor has
the ancient tempter ever ceased to deceive mankind with false promises.
It is on this account that one convulsion following upon another has marked
the passage of the centuries, down to the revolution of our own days.
This modern revolution, it may be said, has actually broken out or threatens
everywhere, and it exceeds in amplitude and violence anything yet experienced
in the preceeding persecutions launched against the Church. Entire
peoples find themselves in danger of falling back into a barbarism worse
than that which oppressed the greater part of the world at the coming of
the Redeemer.
This all too imminent danger, Venerable Brethren,
as you have already surmised, is bolshevistic and atheistic communism,
which aims at upsetting the social order and at undermining the very foundations
of Christian civilizations.
In the face of such a threat the Catholic Church could not and does not remain silent. This Apostolic See, above all, has not refrained from raising its voice, for it knows that its proper and special mission is to defend truth, justice and all those eternal values which communism ignores or attacks. Ever since the days when groups of "intellectuals" were formed in an arrogant attempt to free civilization from the bonds of morality and Religion, Our Predecessors overtly and explicitly drew the attention of the world to the consequences of the dechristianization of human society. With reference to communism, Our venerable Predecessor, Pius IX, of holy memory, as early as 1846 pronounced a solemn condemnation, which he confirms in the words of the Syllabus directed against "that infamous doctrine of so-called communism which is absolutely contrary to the natural law itself, and if once adopted would utterly destroy the rights, property and possessions of all men, and even society itself." Later on, another of Our Prredecessors, the immortal Leo XIII, in his encyclical Quod apostolici muneris defined communism as "the fatal plague which insinuates itself into the very marrow of human society only to bring about its ruin." With clear intuition he pointed out that the atheistic movements existing among the masses of the Machine Age had their origin in that school of philosophy which for centuries had sought to divorce science from the life of the Faith and of the Church.
During Our Pontificate We too have frequently and with urgent insistence denounced the current trend to atheism which is alarmingly on the increase. In 1924 when Our relief-mission returned from the Soviet Union We condemned communism in a special Allocution which We addressed to the whole world. In Our Encyclicals Miserentissimus Redemptor, Quadragesimo Anno, Caritate Christi, Acerba Animi, Dilectissima Nobis, We raised a solemn protest against the persecutions unleashed in Russia, in Mexico and now in Spain. Our two Allocutions of last year, the first on the occasion of the opening of the International Catholic Press Exposition, and the second during Our audience to the Spanish refugees, along with Our message of last Christmas, have evoked a world-wide echo which is not yet spent. In fact, the most persistent enemies of the Church, who from Moscow are directing the struggle against Christian civilization, themselves bear witness, by their unceasing attacks in word and act, that even to this hour (March, 1937) the Papacy has continued faithfully to protect the sanctuary of the Christian Religion, and that it has called public attention to the perils of communism more frequently and more effectively than any other public authority on earth.
Alluring Promises
How is it possible that such a system, long since
rejected scientifically and now proved erroneous by experience, how is
it, We ask, that such a system could spread so rapidly in all parts of
the world? The explanation lies in the fact that too few have
been able to grasp the nature of communism. The majority instead
succumb to its deception, skillfully concealed by the most extravagant
promises. By pretending to desire only the betterment of the condition
of the working-classes, by urging the removal of the very real abuses chargeable
to the liberalistic economic order, and by demanding a more equitable distribution
of this world's goods (objectivies entirely and undoubtedly legitimate),
the
communist takes advantage of the present world-wide economic crisis to
draw into the sphere of his influence even those sections of the populace
which on principle reject all forms of materialism and terrorism. And
as every error contains its element of truth, the partial truths to which
we have referred are astutely presented according to the needs of time
and place, to conceal, when convenient, the repulsive crudity and inhumanity
of communistic principles and tactics. Thus the communist ideal
wins over many of the better-minded members of the community. These
in turn become the apostles of the movement among the younger intelligentsia
who
are still too immature to recognize the intrinsic errors of the system.
The preachers of communism are also proficient in exploiting racial antagonisms
and political divisions and oppositions. They take advantage of the
lack of orientation characteristic of modern agnostic science in order
to burrow into the universaties, where they bolster up the principles of
their doctrine with pseudo-scientific arguments.
If we would explain the blind acceptance of communism by so many thousand of workmen, we must remember that the way had been already prepared for it by the Religious and moral destitution in which wage-earners had been left by liberal economics. Even on Sundays and Holy-Days, labor-shifts were given no time to attend to their essential Religious duties. No one thought of building Churches within convenient distance of factories, nor of facilitating the work of the Priest. On the contrary, laicism was actively and persistently promoted, with the result that we are now reaping the fruits of the errors so often denounced by Our Predecessors and by Ourselves. It can surprise no one that the communistic fallacy should be spreading in a world already to a large extent dechristianized.
There is another explanation for the rapid diffusion of the communistic ideas now (1937) seeping into every nation, great and small, advanced and backward, so that no corner of the earth is free from them. This explanation is to be found in a propaganda so truly diabolical that the world has perhaps never witnessed its like before. It is directed from one common center. It is shrewdly adapted to the varying conditions of diverse peoples. It has at its disposal great financial resources, gigantic organizations, international congresses, and countless trained workers. It makes use of pamphlets and reviews, of cinema, theater and radio, of schools and even universities. Little by little it penetrates into all classes of the people and even reaches the better-minded groups of the community, with the result that few are aware of the poison which increasingly pervades their minds and hearts.
A third powerful factor in the diffusion of communism is the conspiracy of silence on the part of a large section of the non-Catholic press of the world. We say conspiracy, because it is impossible otherwise to explain how a press usually so eager to exploit even the little daily incidents of life has been able to remain silent for so long about the horrors perpetrated in Russia, in Mexico and even in a great part of Spain; and that it should have relatively so little to say concerning a world organization as vast as Russian communism. This silence is due in part to short-sighted policy, and is favored by various occult forces (freemasons) which for a long time have been working for the overthrow of the Christian Social Order.
Meanwhile the sorry effects of this propaganda
are before our eyes. Where communism has ben able to assert its power
-- and here We are thinking with special affection of the people of
Russia and Mexico -- it has striven by every possible means, as its champions
openly boast, to destroy Christian civilization and the Christian Religion
by banishing every remembrance of them from the hearts of men, especially
of the young. Bishops and Priests were exiled, condemned to forced
labor, shot and done to death in unhuman fashion; laymen suspected of defending
their Religion were vexed, persecuted, dragged off to trial and thrown
into prison.
Even where the scourge of communism has not yet
had time enough to exercize to the full its logical effect, as witness
Our beloved Spain, it has, alas, found compensation in the fiercer violence
of its attack. Not only this or that Church or isolated Monastery
was sacked, but as far as possible every Church and every Monastery was
destroyed. . . . .
.... And this fearful destruction has been carried out with a
hatred and a savage barbarity one would not have believed possible in our
age. No man of good sense, nor any statesman conscious of his
responsibility can fail to shudder at the thought that what is happening
today in Spain may perhaps be repeated tomorrow in other civilized countries.
Nor can it be said that these atrocities are a transitory phenomenon, the usual accompaniment of all great revolutions, the isolated excesses common to every war. No, they are the natural fruit of a system which lacks all inner restraint. Some restraint is necessary for man considered either as an individual or in society. Even the barbaric peoples had this inner check in the natural law written by God in the heart of every man. And where this natural law was held in higher esteem, ancient nations rose to a grandeur that still fascinates -- more than it should! -- certain superficial students of human history. But tear the very idea of God from the hearts of men, and they are necessarily urged by their passions to the most atrocious barbarity.
This unfortunately, is what we now behold. For the first time in history we are witnessing a struggle, cold-blooded in purpose and mapped out to the least detail between man and "all that is called God." Communism is by its nature anti-religious. It considers Religion as "the opiate of the people" because the principles of Religion which speak of a life beyond the grave dissuade the proletariat from the dream of a soviet paradise which is of this world.
But the law of nature and its Author cannot be flouted with impunity. Communism has not been able and will not be able, to achieve its objectives even in the merely economic sphere. It is true that in Russia it has been a contributing factor in rousing men and materials from the inertia of centuries, and in obtaining by all manner of means, often withou scruple, some measure of material success. Nevertheless We know from reliable and even very recent testimony that not even there, in spite of slavery imposed on millions of men, has communism reached its promised goal. After all, even the sphere of economics needs some morality, some moral sense of responsibility, which can find no place in a system so thoroughly materialistic as communism. Terrorism is the only possible substitute, and it is terrorism that reigns today (1937) in Russia, where former comrades in revolution are exterminating each other. Terrorism, having failed despite all to stem the tide of moral corruption, cannot even prevent the dissolution of society itself.
In making these observations it is no part of Our intention to condemn en masse the peoples of the Soviet Union. For them We cherish the warmest paternal affection. We are well aware that not a few of them groan beneath the yoke imposed on them by men who in very large part are strangers to the real interests of the country. We recognize that many others were deceived by fallacious hopes. We blame only the system, with its authors and abettors who considered Russia the best prepared field for experimenting with a plan elaborated decades ago, and who from there continue to spread it from one end of the world to the other.
(We are now [November 15, 2000] seeing before our eyes in this election count in Florida, communists in action.)
Above all other reality there exists one Supreme Being: God, the omnipotent Creator of all things, the all-wise and just Judge of all men. This Supreme reality, God, is the absolute condemnation of the impudent falsehoods of communism. In truth, it is not because men believe in God that He exists; rather because He exists do all men whose eyes are not deliberately closed to the truth believe in Him and pray to Him.
A Remedy
But "unless the Lord keep the city, he watcheth
in vain that keepeth it." And so, as a final and most efficacious
remedy, We recommend, Venerable Brethren, that in your Dioceses you use
the most practical means to foster and intensify the spirit of Prayer
joined with Christian penance. When the Apostles asked the Savior
why they had been unable to drive the evil spirit from a demoniac, Our
Lord answered: "This kind is not cast out but by Prayer and Fasting."
So, too, the evil which today torments humanity can be conquered only
by a world-wide holy crusade of prayer and penance. We ask especially
the contemplative Orders, men and women, to redouble their prayers and
sacrifices to obtain from Heaven efficacious aid for the Church in the
present struggle. Let them implore also the powerful intercession
of the Immaculate Virgin who, having crushed the head of the serpent of
old, remains the sure Protectress and Invincible "Help of Christians"
To hasten the advent of that "peace of Christ in the Kingdom of Christ" so ardently desired by all, We place the vast campaign of the Church against world communism under the standard of St. Joseph, her mighty Protector. He belongs to the working-class, and he bore the burdens of poverty for himself and the Holy Family, whose tender and vigilant head he was. In a life of faithful performance of every-day duties, he left an example for all those who must gain their bread by the toil of their hands. He won for himself the title of the Just, serving thus as a living model of that Christian justice which should reign in social life.
When Our Lord -- as a grown man -- appeared to one
of the seers, Greta Gansforth, He had a solemn and sad warning to give
her:
"Men did not listen to My Most Holy Mother when
She appeared to them at Fatima and admonished them to do penance.
Now I Myself am coming at the last hour to warn and admonish mankind! The
times are very serious! Men should at last do penance, turn away
from their sins and pray, pray much in order that the wrath of God may
be mitigated! Particularly the Holy Rosary should be prayed very
often! The Rosary is very powerful with God! Worldly pleasures
and amusements should be restricted."
"Men do not listen to My Voice, they harden their
hearts, they resist my Grace, they do not wish to have anything to do with
My Mercy, My Love, My merits; mankind is worse than before the deluge.
Mankind is suffocating in sin. Hatred and greed rule their hearts.
This is the work of the Devil. They live in great darkness . . .
"
"Through the wounds that bleed now, mercy will again
gain victory over justice. My faithful souls should not be asleep
now like the Disciples on Mt. Olivet. They should pray without ceasing
and gain all they can for themselves and for others."
"Tremendous things are in preparation: it
will be terrible as never before since the foundation of the world.
All
those who in these grave times have suffered so much, are martyrs and form
the seed for the new Church. They were privileged to participate
in My captivity, in My scourging, in My crown of thorns, and My way of
the Cross."
"The Blessed Virgin Mary and all the choirs
of Angels will be active during the happenings. Hell believes
that it is sure of the harvest, but I will snatch it away from them.
Many
curse me now, but these sufferings will come over mankind that they may
be saved through it . . . . Many expiate all they can for those
who curse Me now."
"I will come with My peace. With
a few faithful, I will build up My Kingdom. As a flash of
lightning this Kingdom will come . . . . much faster than mankind
will realize. I will give them a SPECIAL LIGHT. For
some this light will be a blessing: for others, darkness. The light
will come like the Star that showed the way to the wise men. Mankind
will experience My love and My power. I will show them My
justice and My Mercy.
My dearly beloved children, the hour comes
closer and closer. Pray without ceasing!"
Heede, Germany is a solemn affirmation and re-affirmation of all that Our Lady said at Fatima, a warning of disaster and yet a glorious promise of a new age of the spirit, a rewakening of mankind to the mighty power over evil that emanates from the hill of Calvary. Heede confirms Fatima's great promise of the victory of Mary's Immaculate Heart and the era of peace that is to be conceded to humanity.
Daniel Informed of the Times Ahead
1.-But at that time shall Michael rise up, the great
prince, who standeth for the children of thy people and a time shall come
such as never was from the time that nations began even until that
time. And at that time shall thy people be saved, every one that
shall be found written in the book.
2. -And many of those that sleep in the dust of
the earth, shall awake, some unto life everlasting, and others unto reproach,
to see it always. 3. - But they that are learned shall shine as the
brightness of the firmament: and they that instruct many to justice, as
stars for all eternity.
4.-But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words,
and seal the book, even to the time appointed: many shall pass over, and
knowledge shall be manifold.
5.-And I Daniel looked, and behold as it were two
others stood: one on this side upon the bank of the river, and another
on that side, on the other bank of the river. 6.-And I said to the
man that was clothed in linen, that stood upon the waters of the river:
How
long shall it be to the end of these wonders? And I heard the
man that was clothed in linen, that stood upon the waters of the river:
when he had lifted up his right hand, and his left hand to Heaven, and
had sworn by Him that liveth for ever, that it should be unto a time, and
times, and half a time. And when the scattering of the band of
the holy people (Catholics) shall be accomplished, all these things
shall be finished. And I heard and understood not.
And I said: O my Lord, what shall be after these things? 9.-And he
said: Go, Daniel, because the words are shut up and sealed until
the appointed time. 10.-Many shall be chosen, and made white,
and shall be tried as fire: and the wicked shall deal wickedly, and none
of the wicked shall understand, but the learned shall understand.
11.-And from the time when the Continual Sacrifice (Holy Sacrifice
of the Mass) shall be taken away, and the abomination unto desolation
(new order of the mass) shall be set up, there shall be a thousand
two hundred ninety days. 12.-Blessed is he that waiteth and cometh
unto a thousand three hundred thirty-five days. 13.-But go thou thy
ways until the time apponted: and thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot
unto the end of the days.
Page 16.
When the Church assembles her children on
Ash-Wednesday and marks them on the brow with the memento of their mortality,
which is the punishment of sin, or when she suspends her Gloria in Advent
and in Lent, or when she extinguishes one by one her mystic candles amid
the grave chants of her doleful Tenebrae, or when she strips her Altars,
as if the end of the world or the persecution of Antichrist were come
and there was to be no more daily Sacrifice, all these are so many
expressions of the sense of sin and of the mournfulness of our estrangement
from God.
Page 111.
. . . The wants of souls are almost infinitely various;
some have the grace to feel the want of much, and to be ever wanting more;
others unhappily want little, and can be contented with almost less; but
just as the running stream fills the vessels, great or small, which are
dipped into its abundance, and just as the sun gives full light to the
various powers of vision of different men and animals, so it is with
the Mass. It is coextensive with the wants of all, embraces all,
satisfies all, stimulates all. Our all is there, our bread for the
day, our viaticum for the journey to eternity. It is enough if
the daily Sacrifice of the Mass cease, for the Church at once to fall on
those unutterable latter days when Antichrist shall persecute and reign.
Laws against Mass, insults to it, inabilities to bequeath foundations for
it, all these are of the essence of persecution.
Theresa Newman, the Austrian Stigmatist
after the Second World War said:
That great chastisement was comeing over all of
mankind and that nothing or no one can stop it but that God was pleased
with the Charity of America and because of this America would be spared
the prison camps; but God would bring America to its' knees through the
elements.
Sister Josefa Menendez
Christ also told this to Sister Josefa Menendez.
He told her that nothing or no one could stop His plan, or His choice,
of using her to work out, through her person, what was to be carried out
in the world. (I believe that Sister Josefa was a figure of the Church
just as Saint John the Apostle was a figure of the Church at the foot of
the Cross, and that this was a preparation for the Church of the reign
of Satan that God had promised him. If when reading of these visions
of Sister Josefa in the book "The Way of Divine Love" one takes Sister
Josefa out and puts the Church in her place one can understand a lot about
these times we are now living through.)
