Outside La Alhambra, you get an idea of it's expansiveness La Alhambra has been through a lot since it's hey day. It was even a prison for awhile. The courtyards are spectacles themselves.

Windows throughout the interior provide their own artistically framed views You can climb the bell tower for expansive views of the rest of La Alhambra, the mountain range (featuring Sierra Nevada) and the city.
