I've been playing D&D for more years than I care to count (20 years, YIKES!!), and have discovered that a character can be much more fun if the player has taken the time to completely flesh out the character before playing.

So I decided to begin putting together a web page of character creation notes and ideas, so that other players have an opportunity to make a complex, character to play.

This design has been based on WOTC's 3rd Edition Dungeons and Dragons Open Source policy.  No effort has been made to secure the approval of WOTC or any other interested party in the publication of this web site, which does quote heavily from the copyrighted works of those persons. It is not intended to infringe upon their rights, but rather to enhance, organize and compile a portion of their material.

The information here is of no use to anyone who does not have access to the books from which it is drawn, and it is my expectation that anyone not having those books will find them necessary if this material is to be of any use at all.

Players may wish to re-roll values they find overly disparate.  This is not the final word, but a guideline and creation helper.  Don't take this as the gospel truth for your character.  In other words, have fun and be creative!!

I want to extend many, many thanks to M. J. Young, whose First Edition Character Creation site provided much guidance and a fair amount of text for this one.  His site was one of the first D&D sites I found on the 'net, and I still refer to it to make characters.
