D&D is full of dungeon-delving, goblin -slaying, and castle raiding, with a dragon or two thrown in for excitement.  While this can be interesting and fun, sometimes a player should expand his or her horizons for something a little different.  RavenloftTM or SpellJammerTM are good examples of TSR/WOTC expanding their horizons with the campaign expansion sets.

Unfortunately, no company has done a good job expanding onto the sea.  In D&D, the sea is a means to get someplace, not a suitable campaign environment.

So we decided to expand the limited information given by TSR/WOTC, and add in over three years of research done by my friends and I, plus the wonderful Seafarer's Handbook produced by Legends & Lairs, and create a Forgotten Realms seafaring Campaign.

What follows are the character creation notes for the Forgotten Realms Pirate Isles Campaign we are about to begin.  As the campaign progresses, DM's notes and Player's notes will be added.
