David Mullins, born c:1760, married Sarah Hearndon, settled in Henry County, VA, and served in the Revolution. His children were Celia, John, Henry Green, Burwell and Nathaniel. Henry Green Mullins married Matilda Winston Hill, daughter of Samuel C. Hill of Henry County. Several members of this family removed to Georgia. (Hill, History of Henry County, p. 194).

He married Athenia CADE March 31, 1823 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was born Abt. 1800 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and died May 17, 1883 in Marion, South Carolina.

William attended Univ. of NC, graduated law, served S.C. state legislature, was 2nd president of Willmington & Manchester railroad.

His diary from days at Univ. of NC is basis of doctoral disertation.

Scarborough, Mullins & Reily is the 2nd largest law firm in SC with 50+ lawyers; Mr Reily is presently U.S. Secretary of Education.

Edward MULLINS of the firm is the great great grandson of William S. Mullins.

David Mullins served as private in the Virginia troops. He was born, 1750, in Goochland County, Va., where he died.
