She died Bet. 1801 - 1807 in Probably Jackson County, Georgia. Notes for Malone "Lone" MULLINS I: 02/21/2000 On the Spartanburg Census, 1800: Lone 31010-00010-00 Page 192 Lone Mullins is about the same age as Bud (26-44) and has a wife of his same age range. They have an older son 10-15 years of age and 3 boys under 10. We have no information about the future of this Lone Mullins. There were 4 boys in this family and I believe one of them was May, another Thomas, Malone Jr., and 1 more. There is some indication that Lone and his wife died and that the children may have been raised by relatives. This is definitely not the Malone who was in Hancock County, GA. His census, if it would not have been lost would have read 31101-20110-??. 08/31/2001 There has been some thought that Lone may have married a Traylor. Because he was taxed meant that he had to be at least 18, so his birth year would have to be about 1791. Malone Mullins of Hall County drew land in the 1820 Georgia Land Lottery. The draw was in the 2nd District of Appling County, GA. This meant that he had moved to Hall County with Bud and May. Malone Mullens is in the 1830 Blount County, Alabama Census, pg. 019. In addition there is a John Mullens on the same page. Malone's data on pg. 019 1-0-0-0-1 1-1 Malone would be 20-29, no wife. Birth year range 1800-1810. John Mullens was on pg. 019 1-0-0-1-1-0-0-1 0-0-0-1-2-0-0-1 John and wife would be 50-60. This particular Malone appears to be the son of John Mullens born 1770-1780. Melone Mullins received 2 land grants in Pickens County, AL, on 12/01/1826, #5674 & #5675 for about 76 acres each. Signatures certified - July 14, 1832, recorded August 27, 1832. This is the land that William Kirkland obtained in a headright land grant in 1801, and taxed on in 1803, and 1804 as Cochran's District.

Notes for May MULLINS: 01/30/2001 From Paul Mullins' web site http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/m/u/l/Paul-D-Mullins/GENE2-0002.html#CHILD2: The entry for Carroll County residence 1099 enumerated Mary Mullins, male, sixty two years of age and his family. The name, Mary, is an obvious typographical error, which, if correctly spelled, would have been May. This enumeration also listed his place of birth as North Carolina. A later census states his birthplace was South Carolina. The family of May Mullins, as enumerated, includes Anna, female, age 59; Irena, female, age 23; Pinckney, male, age 21; Mary C. Cams, female, age 17; and Mary Mullins, female, age 16. The place of birth of all these family members was Georgia. If May Mullins was sixty two years of age in 1850, he was born in the year 1788. In this census, May Mullins was three years older than Anna, his wife. In the Neva Lomason Library, Carrolton, Georgia, there is a translation of the U. S. Census of 1860 of Carroll County, Georgia. Therein, May Mullins was enumerated in residence 88 as a male, eighty years of age, and a farmer whose place of birth was in South Carolina. The difference in his age as reported in the census of 1850 and the census of 1860 is eighteen years. In this enumeration, Anna was listed as his wife, female, and seventy one years old. May was nine years older than Anna as listed. There are no other household residents. May and Anna's children were adults and residing elsewhere. The listing of the age of May Mullins as 80 years places his birth in the year 1780. An earlier census placed his birth in 1788. By this reckoning, in 1818, the year of the birth of Micajah, he was thirty eight years of age. This census is the last record of either May or Anna Mullins. Because of their advanced age, it is reasonable to assume that May and Anna resided in Carroll County for the remainder of their lives and are buried in an unmarked grave in the cemetery of whatever community that served as their residence.
In the Neva Lomason Library, there is still another translation of the U. S. Census of 1860 of Carroll County Georgia. It enumerates the family of James T. Mullins, age 39, shoemaker, born in South Carolina. His wife was Mary, and they had seven children. They were Matilda, age 13; John C., age 11; Sarah E., age 9; James A., age 7; Mary F., age 5; Martha J., age 3; and Nancy, age 1. In his later years, James Warren Mullins stated he had an uncle who was a shoemaker. James T. Mullins was surely this uncle. James T. Mullins was born in 1821. He was one year older than Micajah. If he was the son of May and Anna, he was their oldest son. Supporting the belief that he was a son of May and Anna is the fact that four of James T. and Mary's children had names in common with the yet to be introduced children of Pinkney Carson Mullins. Their names were Sarah, James, Mary and Nancy. With the exception of Pinkney Mullins, there are no records as to where and how these early members of this greater Mullins family lived, when they died, or where they are buried. They may have chosen to remain in Georgia, or like so many, removed to the West. It is reasonable to believe that there are members of this Mullins families throughout the South and in other areas of the United States with whom the Mullins of this story have common antecedents in May and Anna Mullins.

Notes for William MULLINS: 01/10/2003 1821 GA Land Lottery - Mullins, William of McCutchen’s District, Hall County, received 2 draws: land lot #166, Section 5, Dooly County, and land lot #54, Section 6, Monroe County. 1827 GA Land Lottery - Mullins, William, soldier, Garrard's District, Hall County, drew lot #126, District 2, of Carroll County, GA. 01/04/2003 There was a William Mullins, enumerated in Hall County, Georgia for 1820, 1830, 1840, 1850. Further census records have not been researched. He states that he was born in South Carolina (1850 census information, pg 395, line 7, family #900 - last family in that district) in 1790. By 1850 his first wife has died, and he is married to E. Mullins age 36 and has 5 daughters: S.T. age 11, M.A. age 9, M.M. age 7, M.B. age 5, and Z.E. age 2. All of these females were born in Georgia. The census taker was lazy and his handrwiting not very legible. In looking at the 1860 census for William Mullins in Hall County where he lived in the 385th District one will find his neighbors still in the same area. In fact on the 1860 census page there is an empty house between the two Bell families that were enumerated on either side of him in 1850. Hmm? In the 1860 Mortality Schedule for Georgia, one William Mullins of Cobb County, age 70, died in May of 1860. He was born in South Carolina. This matches perfectly our William Mullins.

They were: M. C. Mullins Born: August 17, 1818 Died: July 17, 1899 J. P. Mullins Born: May 11, 1859 Died: October 23, 1890 From Paul Mullins: That is Micajah, May's son. And yes, that is his son Joseph. This cemetary lies a few miles north of May's Carroll/Douglas County land. I have been to the cemetary and I have digital picts of the graves and stones. I even talked to the man who cared for it and attempted to see if there were any records. He said no. I had hoped to find others. There is a grave between Micajah and Joseph with only a fieldstone marker. No other graves around looked like they were a part of that plot. The dates on Micajah and Joseph's stones match what I had. The fieldstone could be Mary, Micajah's wife or Joseph's. There is a cemetary with about 20-30 fieldstone marked graves and two marble markers with no inscription in a cemetary on the next lot over from May's 202 ½ acre lot. It lies on County Road Tyree which comes off of Old Post Road, the road that runs through the west side of May's land. Which is also the half he did not sell in 1848. I still have to go back and research where the other half went to after May's death. Now the issue of the middle initial, as you can see from the picture, it is either a C or a G. The C could make some sense. I have found where my GG-Grandfather Micajah was listed as Micajah R. in a census. But, one of my older cousins (my grandfather's generation) told me his middle initial was C and it stood for Cornelius. Seeing the possible C on Micajah's grave at Bill Arp, I decided that lended more credence to that belief. Who knows for sure? The P in Joseph P. I would guess to be Pinckney. But, maybe not. His brother had a middle name Pinckney, and his uncle had it for a first name. The brother thing would make it strange. Again, who knows?
