Lone Mullins in South Carolina

Living next door to Matthew Sparks was the family of Lone MULLINS; with Bud MULLINS being enumerated some (31) houses earlier.  Lone (probably Malone) Mullins is believed to be the son of Thomas Mullins II, and Bud would be his uncle .  Bud has been traveling with Thomas since they left North Carolina, and because of the closeness of their ages, I believe there to be a strong family tie between them.  There was a Malloan MULLINS taxed back in Wilkes County, Georgia, in 1787, but not in the same area as Bud and Thomas.  What makes this so confusing is that Thomas’ brother Malone was living in a nearby county at that time.  This Lone is married and has four sons.  The exact enumeration is 31010-00010-00.1  This translates to Lone and his unnamed wife being between 26-44 years of age, one son between 10-15, and 3 younger boys, all under 10 years old.  This would have made Lone’s birth year between 1756-1774, which would be close to Bud’s birth year of 1758-1759.  There have been stories received recently that the children of Lone MULLINS and his wife were orphaned early, and lived with a Sparks family.  This rumor would certainly tie in with the events surrounding this family, after the believed children show up back up in Georgia.  In looking at facts surfacing later in Georgia, the children of Lone and his wife have been assumed to be:

  1. May MULLINS                     b: Abt. 1788 in NC or SC

  2. Malone "Lone" MULLINS II    b: Abt. 1791 in SC?

  3. William MULLINS                 b: 1790 in SC

  4. Thomas MULLINS              b: Bet. 1791 – 1800

Did these children of Lone move to Georgia about 1801 with the Sparks family, or stay with Bud until he and his family moved back a few years later?  At this time, there is no way to tell.
