K-12 Learning Resources
Western Washington Area Health Education Center can provide you with curricula for Kindergarten through eighth grade that support science and health career education. WWAHEC also administers a health career internship program for high school juniors and seniors.

aka Science is a comprehensive, after school science program for grades K-6. The hands-on, interactive, inquiry-based activities are designed to help kids discover and develop their innate ability to learn about the world around them. For a reasonable cost WWAHEC can provide complete training and technical support for teachers and administrative staff. Read more

Allied Health: An Option for the Future is a modular curriculum for grades K-8 designed to introduce students to health careers. The curriculum was created and adapted to assist students in identifying the connection of current classroom learning to their later life work, and can be used in conjunction with existing health or science classes or career center activities. Project HOPE (Health Occupations Preparatory Experience) provides high school students with six-week paid internships at local health facilities. To gain experience in a broad variety of health professions, interns rotate in several settings under the supervision of staff from hospitals, medical and dental clinics, and long-term care facilities. These interns gain valuable insight in a professional work environment as well as an introduction to a multitude of allied health and professional health care careers. Read more

Health Career Ambassadors (formerly known as Building Partnerships). Most health professions are experiencing personnel shortages. The Ambassadors Program can help mentors interest high school students in pursuing health professions careers and help students understand the multitude of exciting opportunities in the health care arena.
