August the 14th

We lit a chalice, checked in, and approved previous minutes.

[Prior to this in person meeting, we unanimously agreed by email to authorize Cecilia to marry people in the name of our congregation.Which she promptly did.]

Treasurer's report

For the month of July, we ran a $400 surplus.On top of which, we generated $271 for the Eliot Center.

Contracts

We all agreed on a memorandum of duties for Cecilia, with her Pastoral care arrangement spelled out, and religious education higher on the list.

We unanimously approved the contract for Marcia Stanard, our 1 year religious education coordinator.Daunting, even.

Other Meetings

The board is still having a retreat on August 19, but not on the 20th.

Discussion Followed

We noted that people are likely to have strong feelings about the recent worship and the order changes.Anders observed that any discussions should be well publicized and open to all.

We also need a clear structure for resolving future conflicts that may arise.We thought the Ministry committee may be the place for this, with its charge being managing conflicts amongst congregants as well as between a minister and the congregation.
