Wy'east board meeting
March 21, 2007

We checked in and lit a chalice.

We approved minutes from our meeting on Jan 28, and the Long Range Planning meeting on Feb. 21.

The board authorized Marcia Stanard to officate weddings and other rites of

passage.

We thank Katy Michel for repainting the worship time on our sign.
We're also very glad that Debra Tomsen has agreed to take on Social Hour Coordinator, and Cindy Smith will be our new Lockup Coordinator.

Budget

The February budget was ok.
Our expenses were greater than income by a small amount.
The budget for this year looks good.
Profit from the vocal class has been added to the music fund.
Barbara donated the new banner.
Judi McGavin donated her speaking fee.
More people should get reimbursed and then donate back things they do, so they get credit, and the budget reflects our actual costs.

Our fundraising goal will be met, with the General Assembly B&B program.

Next Year

Those who attended the Canvass dinner generally continued last year's support level.
We need to follow up with new members and those who missed the dinner.

Barbara distributed a draft budget for next year, including the possibility of a loan to promote growth.
Discussion followed.
Anders expressed reservations about taking on debt, and asked for a financial model that would show sustainable growth covering the long-term costs of the loan, to be shared at the next meeting.
We tried to figure out how we can afford the programs we want.
