Wy'east board minutes

A brief meeting was held April 1.
We voted to appoint Debra Tomsen to fill the vacant board seat.

We reviewed the financial data Joanne had prepared for the congregational meeting later that evening.
With $31,000 in pledge at that time, we needed to increase to $39000 with a loan, or $41000 without.

April 2 meeting

We lit a chalice and checked in.

Pledge

We made it!
With $38792 in pledges, with more pledges still to come, we have enough to call a minister.
We may not even need the full $12000 loan.
Joanne will review our financial projections, and Barbara will send them to the PNWD Growth people.
Joanne will send an email announcing these results, followed by a pulpit announcement.

Search

We have a candidate!
Susan Maginn, of St. Louis, MO is our ministerial candidate.
She will be here April 26-29 for Candidating Weekend.
Anders will send an email, followed by pulpit information, followed by a newsletter supplement.

Minutes

We approved minutes for March 21 and 26 meetings.
Since she wasn't there, Debra abstained.

Annual Meeting

Nominating committee has a full slate of people to go on the board next year, and on the Nominating Committee.
We have some possible bylaws changes to consider for the annual meeting as well.
We need to define the Ministry committee well for those changes.

The pledge results/repledge meeting went well, scheduled before the potluck.
The informational meeting, since it has no vote at the end, is even better suited for before the potluck in May.
We will mail information to people on May 1, so they can mull it over before the meeting.

Youth

We get to send one of our youth to GA for free. Morgan's on the board picking people.
Stefan's the most involved youth who's eligible.
We'll offer to others if he's not interested.

Piano

There is a digital piano we could have for cheap.
Ellen is willing to waive her fee for the time it would take to accrue the money for repairs to make this digital piano work well.
Our musicians will check it out and report back.
If they like it, we'll discuss the possibility with Waverly.
