We lit a chalice and checked in.

With one mathematical amendment, the previous minutes were approved.

Search Committee

We discussed the nature and rules of a search committee.Since we're looking for someone to work half time, it won't be a settlement process, but a yearly contract which may be renewed forever.

Tode is keeping a list of people eligible and well-suited for such a committee."We" being the board and the nominating committee, whose duties it is to assemble the search committee.

Congregational Meeting

We have to have a congregational vote to create a search committee.[After the board meeting, the Worship committee suggested Sept. 17, because David Maynard may be preaching that week.]

Cecilia's contract

We approved Cecilia's contract.An added bonus to Wy'East, to be described carefully so we have the correct expectations about it.

Misc.

Anders will write the board column for September, while Barbara will write a special column about the Search process.

We hope to delegate the Behaviour Covenant idea to a Ministry Committee.Which we need to create.

We'll have a board retreat at Barbara's house on August 19.
