We approved the minutes of the Annual Meeting held on Sunday, May 21, 2006.

There was a discussion of the process of conducting a search for a half time minister.  David Maynard was in attendance in his capacity as the District Consultant.  The congregation voted to authorize a search.  Then the congregation voted to elect Anders Liljeholm, Rich Hines, and Harold Weisenbloom to be on the search committee.  They join Mabel Pool and Debra Tomsen who were appointed to the search committee by the board.

Minutes of the April 1, 2007 Congregational Meeting

At 6:10 pm on Sunday, April 1, 27 members of Wy'east UU Congregation had a meeting.

An update was given on the progress of our annual canvass, and the search for a new minister.

For the last 2 years, we have spent some of our savings to meet our budget.  In the year ending June 2007, we expect to spend about $6000 of our savings, instead of the $9000 we budgeted.

However, looking at the results of our canvass, we did not have enough money going forward for long term stability, and we could not call a minister with those financial results.

The board presented 4 possible scenarios, with different financial implications.  Two of the scenarios involved taking out a loan from the Pacific NW District Growth Foundation.  Discussion followed.

A plea for increased pledges was advanced.

Jessica Marlitt moved that the board be authorized to borrow up to $12,000 if anticipated pledges are between $38,000 and $41,000 and we call a minister.  Tode Oshin seconded.  Discussion followed.

A vote by secret ballot took place, the result being 26 yes, 1 no.

Mark Alter moved that the meeting adjourn.  Sarah Schurr seconded. The meeting ended with a voice vote.
